The Esplanade Health Spa

Upon arrival, guests will check in at reception and wait in the seating area provided below the staircase. This area is minimal in design. With the use of soft colours it is both inviting and approachable. At the first floor, the guest will arrive at the gallery library, which overlooks the reception area. In this secluded space privacy is important. This is a quiet area for contemplation, relaxation and informative reading around the therapies available.

There are three private consultation rooms located on the first floor overlooking the entrance and driveway. Each room serves a different purpose, ranging from a children's room, a counselling room and a treatment room. The children's room is specifically aimed at multi dysfunctional children and their families, which is why primary colours and visual aids form the decoration. The treatment and counselling rooms are designed for personal, private discussions. Accompanied with a qualified counsellor, the treatment room, is the heart of all techniques offered here.

By combining polished metal with natural stone walls, this room is representative of old becoming new. With the modern plasma TV, leather corner group, wrought iron tables and timber flooring, it provides a balanced space for social networking of clientele. Family activities and interaction with modern technology can take place here in order to develop a rapport with the friendly staff and patrons.
Separated by a floor to ceiling tropical aquarium lies a more secluded breakfast and refreshment area, consisting of tables and chairs located to the right of the patio doors.

Emphasis is placed on the modern and somewhat futuristic appeal presented above. It is both very welcoming and professional. The American style breakfast chairs give that comfortable western feel.
The design of the room is open plan for easier access and mobility. The clean use of chrome and steel really compliments the dark black ash wood, which is used in the dining table located to the right of the kitchen overlooking the patio, gardens and outdoor swimming pool.

The intent here is to create a minimalistic but luxurious feel. With soft palette colours and the use of raw natural materials, the room provides that extra special homely feel. With wrought iron bed and soft finishes, the room offers a haven. The spacious open plan layout allows natural light to flow right through the room. Combined with old and new, the en-suite compliments the rustic theme. The Jacuzzi bath is positioned to give a pivotal view of east coast, and the complimenting mural of the leaping dolphins really emphasise the tranquil and peaceful emotion set by the space.

The steam room and sauna stand side by side, juxtaposed in self-contained rooms, branching off from the pool area. The intention is to combine an area of relaxation and exercise, making that stay here ever more luxurious.
The colour scheme used here shapes the paradise theme and brings it to life. Using bold mosaic tiling throughout conveys a Romanesque ambience and the subtle use of lighting appears to enhance the mood somewhat.
The “Canadian log cabin” theme dominating the walls and interior of the sauna presents a cosy, winter warming feel, giving the patrons a sense of escapism.

The modern contemporary design used within the unisex changing areas emphasises hygiene, space and minimalism. Use of steel and chrome expresses a clean minimalistic appeal.
The ground floor offers places to shower, refresh, change, whereas the first floor offers increased privacy.
Access is reached via the first floor and is the only entrance to the pool and hydro areas. Situated adjacent to the hydro areas on the ground floor and the master–suite on the first floor, the changing facilities offer extensive sea views.

The prominent use of bold colours contrasted with soft creams creates a feeling of exotic shores, cascading water, hideaways and sandy beaches. Soothed with sense a tropical paradise and a blue lagoon it is the perfect end to a day.
The mezzanine provides a relaxing seating area for quiet contemplation, which also provides a canopy for the Jacuzzi below giving a sense of isolation from the rest of the pool and guests.
From the main area are the sauna, steam room along with unisex and accessible changing areas which link through to the main reception in the event of an emergency.

The landing and roof garden flow through the building as shown here. With the glass roof and open plan layout, it invites a sense of oneness with nature. The use of natural materials, such as timber and stone, promotes a seamless divide between the interior and exterior spaces.
All rooms on the first floor are accessed from the central hall providing a social rendezvous and quiet refection point. By creating small hideaways such as the piano room and reading corner privacy and time alone is easy to find.
