This sketch up model resembling the decline of terraced housing since the 1800's. A typical street now usually consist of several boarded up houses, varieties of vibrant colours and textured exterior walls making the area look like toy town with graffiti on the gable ends. When town centre residential areas look like this it is not surprising that crime rates are high, As discussed in the broken window effect, If people don’t respect the area they live in, how can they expect others to respect their property. Sadly this is the stigma attached to northern working class towns and it will remain attached until people take action.
