Introduction
The purpose of this plan is to demonstrate our concept proposal to incorporate sustainable design into everyday life with as little disruption to current and previous architectural design as possible.
As a group of designers sharing the theory of co-design we aim to main stream sustainability into current design. Our unique selling point being to offer the sustainable choice while maintaining the aesthetic values of current urban design.
We have related our proposed theory to the current practice of J.C Atkinson and Son LTD. We aspire to the words of Mr. Atkinson who stated at the Sustees symposium on 27/01/2009 “I am not an environmentalist, but I do care.”
His company product is not at all related to our discipline yet the overall message of sustainability is where our common interests lie. The product produced at J.C Atkinson and Son LTD is of high sustainability and has been awarded ‘the best green company of 2008’ by the Sunday Times.
His work although sustainable, maintains the same aesthetic values as any other product in his market. We feel this displays the notion that being green does not have to look green. This is the fundamental point that we aim to take forward in our company.
Executive Summary Page
Our company plan is to transform urbanised areas into sustainable eco-friendly environments. By main streaming a sustainable element into current design systems, we aim revolutionize sustainability into the ‘must have’ of the future. Our unique approach is to take the typical frame work of everyday design and covertly incorporate good environmental practice.
Our target market is wide spread through selected areas. These areas include: The public sector, town councils, Local Authorities’, Private housing developers/ contractors and independent investors.
As a group of architectural co-designers the company would be owned equally each undertaking vital roles within the company.
· Chantel Ormerod: Company Secretary
· Josephine Beech: Chief surveyor and planning officer
· Paul Milburn: Head of sustainable research and development
· Richard Lotter: Visual director
Alongside these specific roles we would all be acting as managing directors. Project proposals would be co-designed and presented by an individual depending on the proposal.
The overall objective is to continue providing the general public with what they can understand and relate too while creating a green aspect of which the environment is in desperate need.
If applying for a loan, state clearly how much you want, precisely how you are going to use it, and how the money will make your business more profitable, thereby ensuring repayment.
Company Overview
The purpose of the business is to provide compromise within urban architectural design to incorporate good environmental practice and sustainable outcomes without comprising tradition streetscapes.
As an ever evolving resent topic there is little business history. This provides us the opportunity to be unique and innovative within the design sector.
We are currently at the proposal stage endeavouring to reach, develop and expand this new niche market into a successful enterprise. Extensive research into this area has been undertaken to uncover findings of reduced emissions, cost effective energy sources and positive social and business outcomes.
Our Company slogan is:
“Main streaming eco-design for everyday life”
The features of our venture are to offer the public tradition and functional architectural design while embedding eco-design at the heart of each development.
We intend to benefit each urban area with aesthetically pleasing results which in turn will prevent future environmental and urban deterioration.
Marketing
The objective of the business is to primarily market through reputation however, to gain this good reputation we propose to use the following methods to enhance our business potential:
· Yellow pages advertisement
· Media (radio, newspapers, design journals)
· Web based adverts (pop ups etc)
· Own website
· Networking through conferences and seminars
· Company car sign writing
The business will be initially web based in order to reduce our out goings although we will provide humble premises within central Middlesbrough. After this initial phase we endeavour to expand our company to larger premises where we can start to offer employment positions and sub contracts. This will be done between 18 and 24 months depending on global economy and rate of business. From our extensive research this is feasible.
Basing our practice on co-design, we will collectively develop our ideas while undertaking management in our allocated areas. Our end product will then be presented to the clientele via an appropriate team member. This member will change depending on the proposal put forward and at times may be done by a collation of the group. We will aim to conduct our presentations at the clients own premises until we are able to expand our own.
Our product due to being dependant on the client specification and quantity of materials required we are unable to generate a fixed quote.
We as co-designers, each from a spatial discipline share one common passion for green design.

Business seminars on problem solving can outline ways to see problems from different angles and approach them from different perspectives in order to each a conclusion that will benefit all the people affected by the decision. Additionally, with business successful marketing seminars you can also learn how effectively to brainstorm with others to reach a conclusion and develop a plan to fix the problem.
